Le Monde is reporting that the body found in the Danube yesterday here in Budapest may be that of Ophelie Bretnacher, a 22-yr-old french student who disappeared at the beginning of December. The central districts of the city have for weeks now been covered with flyers bearing her photo, looking for information about her, etc. and sadly, DNA tests will be required to determine if this is, in fact, her body. Bretnacher's disappearance spawned an interesting thread here about attacks on foreign women in the city; i gotta say that based on what my hungarian friends and students say about safety - especially at night - this is hardly a novel phenomenon. Though i am not a particularly paranoid person when it comes to this kind of stuff, i do keep my doors locked when i'm home. Too many tales of break-ins, even in broad daylight. i'm guessing that when Taken comes to the theatres here, it will do well at the box office.

There is an ongoing problem of missing college students in the United States. Many are found drowned.

One source even attempted to connect them to "Smiley Face" graffiti.

Some of them happen after a drinking event but there are a few that defy explanation. One student left his studies, put down his laptop, and walked directly to a bridge to jump. He was cold sober.

VisionAndPsychosis.Net proposes that a bizarre but normal feature in the physiology of sight, discovered to cause mental breaks for office workers, is the probable cause.

The office cubicle was designed to deal with the vision startle reflex to control this problem in office settings. None of those designing "Systems Furniture," cubicles, has the insight to realize that it is a problem of physiology not office workspace.

Students like Bretnacher may have created the "special circumstances" for Subliminal Distraction exposure to precipitate sudden unexplained
suicides.

Avoiding this problem is simple and FREE. Read the PREVENTION paragraphs at VisionAndPsychosis.net.

Checked out visionandpsychosis.net, quite interesting stuff. However, i'm not sure suicide response is applicable in this case (of french student) but then again, how will we ever know?

Tycho, you are correct. No one can open the box (head), look inside, and determine the cause of any mental event.

Why is there a long list of these suicides of college students? Why do they disappear without explanation?

When this problem was discovered designers and engineers devised a way to prevent exposure. They understood that workers would dispute it and some would not act to prevent exposure.

Outside business offices with cubicles it is up to each individual to avoid this problem.

The evidence is all circumstantial but powerful. Many mass shooters have evidence of the problem. The Virginia Tech shooter did.

Some may have sensitivity to the problem. But how would anyone examine each person to determine if they might be one of those few with special sensitivity.

The simple answer is to personally avoid the phenomenon. Why take the risk?
